You Didn't Work This Hard to Stay

Outside the Rooms

Where Decisions Are Made

You have spent years becoming an exceptional physician.

You have taken on responsibility. Led committees. Solved problems. Supported colleagues. Delivered results.

Yet you may still find yourself wondering:

Why am I doing so much—but not advancing into the leadership roles where I could have the greatest impact?

The answer is not that you need to work harder.

The answer is not another committee, credential, or invisible assignment.

And the answer is not changing who you are to fit an outdated image of leadership.

The problem is that medicine taught you how to become an excellent physician—but it didn't teach you how leadership advancement actually works.

Advanced leadership requires more than excellent performance.

It requires a deliberate strategy.

Inside the PWR Advanced Leadership Accelerator™, you will stop relying on hope, hard work, and chance. You will learn how to position yourself intentionally so the right people recognize your leadership readiness, understand the value you bring, and advocate for you before the next opportunity opens.

Imagine Approaching Your Next Leadership Opportunity Differently

Imagine knowing:

• The type of leadership role that best aligns with your values, strengths, expertise, and vision.

• How leadership advancement decisions are actually made inside your organization.

• Which relationships you need to build before an opportunity becomes available.

• How to make your accomplishments visible without feeling as though you are bragging.

• Where to focus your time and which responsibilities are keeping you busy but not advancing your leadership.

• How to speak clearly and confidently about the the leadership impact you are ready to create.

• The specific strategic moves that will position you for your next role.

Instead of waiting for someone to recognize your potential, you will have a personalized plan for making your leadership readiness impossible to overlook.

The PWR Advanced Leadership AcceleratorIs for You If . . .

You are an accomplished woman physician who knows you are capable of creating greater impact.

You are already leading but want to move into a more influential organizational, executive, academic, association, or healthcare leadership role.

You have done everything you were told to do, yet opportunities continue to pass you by.

You are tired of believing that working harder will eventually lead to recognition.

You want to influence how medicine is practiced—not simply participate in it.

You want a strategic roadmap rather than generic leadership advice.

You want to understand the relationships, politics, and informal pipelines that shape leadership decisions.

You want to lead authentically without pretending to be someone you are not.

You know your voice belongs in the rooms where consequential decisions are made.

This Program Is Not for You If…

You are looking for inspiration without action.

You believe excellent work alone will eventually be enough.

You are unwilling to make your leadership aspirations visible.

You are not prepared to examine how you spend your time, build relationships, and position your work.

You are not interested in pursuing greater influence or organizational impact.

The PWR Advanced Leadership Accelerator™ is an active, strategic experience. You will be expected to reflect, make decisions, strengthen relationships, and take deliberate action throughout the program.

You Are Not the Problem

For years, I believed what most physicians are taught.

Work hard.

Take on more responsibility.

Say yes.

Be excellent.

Eventually someone will notice.

So I did exactly that.

I served. I volunteered. I led committees. I delivered results. Yet I found myself close to power but not actually in it. I was even told that if I wanted to advance, I needed to "dress like the men."

That was the moment everything changed.

I realized the problem wasn't my competence.

It was my strategy.

Medicine had taught me how to become an exceptional physician.

No one had ever taught me how leadership actually works.

Once I understood the difference between excellence and strategic positioning, everything changed.

I stopped waiting to be chosen.

I positioned myself differently.

I built influence intentionally.

I made my leadership aspirations visible.

I became only the fifth woman president in more than 160 years of the largest state medical association in the country.

Not because I became more qualified.

Because I finally understood the system.

Today I teach that same framework to accomplished women physicians who are ready to move beyond doing excellent work and begin positioning themselves for the leadership roles where they can have the greatest impact.

The PWR Leadership Method

The PWR Advanced Leadership Accelerator™ is powered by the PWR Leadership Method™, a strategic framework designed specifically for accomplished women physicians pursuing advanced leadership.

Advanced leadership is where physicians move from leading teams and programs to shaping organizations, advancing the profession, and influencing the future of healthcare.

Throughout the program, we will apply the three components of the PWR Leadership Method™ to your career.

1. Position Yourself

Leadership advancement begins with knowing where you are going and ensuring that others understand the leadership value you bring.

You will:

Clarify your professional values, strengths, passions, and leadership vision.

Identify the leadership roles and areas of impact that are the strongest fit for you.

Define your leadership identity and the problems you are uniquely positioned to solve.

Translate your accomplishments into a clear and compelling leadership narrative.

Learn how to communicate your leadership aspirations with confidence and intention.

Audit your current responsibilities and eliminate work that consumes your time without advancing your impact.

Strengthen your leadership positioning inside and beyond your organization.

2. Win Influence

Leadership is not built through authority alone. It is built through relationships, visibility, credibility, proximity, and sponsorship.

You will:

Understand how influence operates within your institution.

Identify the formal and informal decision-makers who shape leadership opportunities.

Build strategic relationships across departments, disciplines, and levels of leadership.

Make your work visible in ways that feel authentic and purposeful.

Distinguish between mentors, advocates, and sponsors—and identify what you need from each.

Become easier for others to advocate for by giving them clear language to describe your work.

Navigate organizational politics without becoming inauthentic or compromising your values.

Expand your influence beyond your current title or area of responsibility.

3. Rise Strategically

You will turn your leadership vision into a deliberate advancement strategy.

You will:

Learn how leadership roles are actually filled before they are publicly announced.

Identify how decisions are made and where you need greater visibility or proximity.

Evaluate leadership opportunities based on alignment, impact, authority, resources, and risk.

Create a strategic pathway toward your next leadership role.

Prepare for career conversations, interviews, negotiations, and sponsorship requests.

Determine the specific actions that will move you from qualified to recognized as ready.

Build a personalized leadership advancement plan you can begin implementing immediately.

This is not about waiting for the system to become fair.

It is about understanding how the system works so you can navigate it with greater clarity, confidence, and intention.

What You Will Experience

This is more than a leadership course.

It is more than group coaching.

It is a three-month leadership acceleration experience built specifically for women physicians.

Your Program Includes:

Nine Live Group Sessions

Each one-hour Zoom session combines strategic teaching, reflection, coaching, and application.

You will not simply learn leadership concepts. You will apply them directly to your current role, organization, relationships, and leadership goals.

One Private Leadership Strategy Session With Shannon

You will meet individually with Shannon for a private coaching session focused on your specific leadership goals, organizational environment, opportunities, and next strategic moves.

Personalized Strategic Tools

You will use PWR frameworks and exercises to clarify your leadership direction, identify gaps in your positioning, map important relationships, and develop your advancement strategy.

A Small, Supportive Cohort

You will learn alongside accomplished women physicians who understand the complexity of leading in medicine and want to see one another succeed.

This is not performative networking.

It is a community built on strategic support, honest reflection, shared wisdom, and the belief that no woman should have to rise alone.

Access to Shannon Between Sessions

You will have access to a private cohort communication channel throughout the program for support, feedback, accountability, and encouragement as you implement your strategy.

By the End of the Accelerator, You Will Have . . .

• A clearly defined leadership direction grounded in your values, strengths, passions, and desired impact.

• A compelling leadership narrative that communicates what you have accomplished and what you are ready to lead next.

• A greater understanding of how power, influence, and leadership decisions operate within your organization.

• A strategic map of the relationships, advocates, and sponsors who can help advance your leadership.

• A visibility strategy that makes your work recognizable without requiring you to become self-promotional.

• Greater clarity about which responsibilities to continue, delegate, decline, or release.

• A deliberate pathway toward your next leadership role.

• A personalized strategic action plan you can continue implementing after the program ends.

• A network of women physicians invested in your success.

You will leave empowered, equipped, and ready to stop waiting for recognition and begin creating the conditions for advancement.

You Do Not Need More Work.

You Need a Better Strategy.

Medicine tells you:

"Keep your head down."

"Work hard."

"Do great work."

"The right people will eventually notice."

But if excellent work alone led to advanced leadership, accomplished women physicians would not continue to be overlooked and excluded from the rooms where consequential decisions are made.

The problem isn't your capability.

The problem is that you've been given an incomplete leadership strategy.

Leadership is not earned through hard work alone.

It's built through:

Positioning.

Visibility.

Relationships.

Influence.

Sponsorship.

Leadership intentionality.

The PWR Advanced Leadership Accelerator™ gives you the strategy to build each of these deliberately.

You do not need to become someone different.

You need to ensure that the leadership value you already bring is understood, recognized, and connected to the opportunities you are ready to pursue.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this program only for physicians pursuing executive titles?

No. The program is designed for accomplished women physicians who want to expand their influence and impact.

Your next step may be a Division Chief, Department Chair, Medical Director, Executive Medical Director, Chief Medical Officer, association president, academic leader, or another senior organizational role.

You may also be seeking greater influence within your current position.

The program will help you define the leadership path that best aligns with the impact you want to create.

What if I do not know exactly which leadership role I want?

You do not need to arrive with a specific title in mind.

One of the first parts of the program will help you clarify the leadership opportunities that align with your values, expertise, skills, passions, and vision.

What if I am already in a leadership position?

You are in the right place.

Many women physicians enter leadership only to discover that greater responsibility does not automatically create greater authority, influence, or opportunity.

This program will help you move from managing additional work to building the strategic positioning required for higher-level leadership and organizational impact.

Is this a course or a coaching program?

It is both strategic training and coaching.

You will learn the PWR Leadership Method™, apply the framework to your own career, receive live coaching, develop a personalized advancement strategy, and receive support as you implement it.

How much time should I expect to spend outside the sessions?

You will receive reflection exercises and strategic action steps between sessions. The purpose is not to create more busywork. Each action is designed to move your leadership forward through focused, intentional steps.

Why is enrollment limited?

The cohort is intentionally small so participants have the opportunity to receive personalized coaching, discuss real leadership situations, and build meaningful relationships with one another.

What is the investment?

The investment for the three-month Fall 2026 Group is $2,500.

This includes nine live group sessions, one private coaching session with Shannon, strategic tools and exercises, cohort support, and access to Shannon between sessions.
