Dr. Shannon Udovic-Constant: Visionary Medical Leader and Fierce Advocate for the Advancement of Women in Medicine

Dr. Shannon Udovic-Constant is an award-winning board-certified general pediatrician, Immediate Past President of the California Medical Association (CMA), and founder and CEO of Physician Women Rising, a community and coaching platform dedicated to helping women in medicine smash barriers, seize leadership roles they deserve, and create lasting impact.

As one of only five female presidents in the 160+ year history of the CMA, Dr. Udovic-Constant is passionate about helping more women rise into leadership positions. She firmly believes that patients, colleagues, employees, institutions, and communities benefit when women are in powerful positions. Her signature leadership philosophy, which combines her decades-long career in medicine across various leadership roles with the art and science of modern, feminine leadership, has been a guiding light for women in medicine across the country.

Physician Women Rising was born from Dr. Udovic-Constant's desire to mentor and empower fellow women in medicine. She offers one-on-one and group coaching and mentorship for women seeking leadership positions to support women in medicine on their leadership journey.

Dr. Udovic-Constant is also a sought-after keynote speaker on topics including the art and science of women's leadership in medicine. She is married to James Constant, M.D., a general surgeon, and they have two young adult children.
